Federalsburg, MD – March 30, 2026
A decisive middle‑innings surge lifted Colonel Richardson to a 12–5 victory over North Dorchester on Monday afternoon, as the Colonels capitalized on patience at the plate and timely power to pull away after a tight start.
Fast Start, Early Momentum
North Dorchester struck first, plating a run in the third as Lane Abey doubled and later scored, keeping the game tight through the early frames. The Eagles showed discipline at the plate, drawing seven walks on the day, but struggled to cash in opportunities as they left runners on base in the opening innings.
Colonels Explode in the Middle
The game turned in the fourth when Colonel Richardson erupted for a four‑run inning. Caleb Rouser tripled and drove in a run, while Hayden Diefenderfer added a two‑run knock to swing momentum firmly in the home team’s favor. The Colonels followed with a dominant fifth inning, adding six more runs to create separation on the scoreboard.
Power and Speed Combination
Colonel Richardson used a balanced offensive attack, combining power with aggressive baserunning. Kenton Robbins launched a home run and finished with two RBIs, while Jack Walls reached base three times and scored three runs. The Colonels also swiped multiple bags, putting constant pressure on the Eagles’ defense.
Eagles Battle but Come Up Short
North Dorchester continued to compete, scoring four runs in the fifth behind RBIs from Keith Biggar and Gage Kral. Biggar went 2‑for‑4 with two RBIs to lead the Eagles offensively. Despite the effort, defensive miscues and free passes proved costly against a deep Colonel Richardson lineup.
Player of the Game
Kenton Robbins (Colonel Richardson) delivered the game’s biggest swing with a home run, finished with four total bases, drove in two runs, and later closed things out on the mound with scoreless work.
Final
Colonel Richardson 12, North Dorchester 5
North Dorchester will host St Michaels tomorrow; while Colonel Richardsons heads to St Michaels Wednesday.
