PARKSIDE ROLLS PAST EASTON IN SPRING NONCONFERENCE CLASH

Salisbury, MD – March 23, 2026

Parkside’s varsity baseball team delivered a complete performance Monday afternoon, shutting out Easton 10–0 in a five-inning contest that showcased balanced offense, aggressive baserunning, and dominant pitching. The Rams scored in four of five innings and never allowed Easton to gain traction, cruising to a decisive early-season win.

Early Pressure Sets the Tone
Parkside wasted no time establishing control, posting two runs in the first inning and adding another in the second to jump out to a 3–0 lead. Ryan Lewis ignited the lineup from the top spot, reaching base three times and setting the pace with his speed and contact. Garrett Jones and Thomas Gormley continued the pressure by consistently putting balls in play and advancing runners, forcing Easton’s pitchers to work from behind throughout the afternoon.

Big Fourth Breaks It Open
Any hope of a comeback evaporated in the fourth inning when Parkside erupted for four runs. Jones delivered one of the biggest swings of the game, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Frank Harrison added a key two-run hit during the rally. The Rams took advantage of six walks and several stolen bases to turn traffic on the bases into runs, stretching the lead to 8–0.

Rams Flash Speed and Depth
Parkside’s athleticism was on full display with six stolen bases, including two from Lewis and one each from Jones, AJ Agoglia, Dave Smith, and Gavin Luffman. Agoglia also reached base three times with a hit and two walks, scoring twice from the middle of the lineup. The Rams finished with nine hits and consistently moved runners, highlighting a deep order that can manufacture offense in multiple ways.

Pitching Dominance Seals the Shutout
On the mound, Tristan Merritt was in full command, tossing four shutout innings while allowing just two hits and striking out six to earn the win. Merritt mixed pitches effectively and kept Easton off balance from the first pitch. Austin Kinhart closed the door in the fifth, working a clean inning with two strikeouts to preserve the shutout and end the game early.

Player of the Game
Ryan Lewis (Parkside) finished 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored, an RBI, two stolen bases, and a walk. His all-around impact at the plate, on the bases, and behind the dish set the tempo and fueled the Rams’ offense from start to finish.

Final
Parkside 10, Easton 0
arkside looks to build on the momentum as the Rams continue their spring schedule, while Easton will aim to regroup and bounce back in its next outing.
