Caesar Rodney Shuts Out North Caroline, Behind Fowler’s Dominant Outing

Camden, DE – April 17, 2026

Caesar Rodney High School’s baseball team continued its strong spring stretch Friday afternoon, securing a 5‑0 shutout win over North Caroline at home behind a dominant pitching performance and patient offense. The Riders capitalized on early pressure, aggressive base running, and steady defense to control the game from start to finish against the visiting Bulldogs.

Riders Set the Tone Early
Caesar Rodney struck first and never looked back, scoring the only run over the opening four innings before adding two more in the fifth and again in the sixth to create comfortable separation. Despite each team finishing with five hits, the Riders made their opportunities count, drawing seven walks and forcing North Caroline into extended innings on the mound.

Fowler Commands the Mound
The story of the game belonged to Caesar Rodney starter Evan Fowler, who delivered six shutout innings while allowing four hits, issuing two walks, and striking out eight. Fowler worked efficiently through traffic and leaned on his command to strand runners and neutralize North Caroline’s lineup before Quinn Collins closed out the seventh inning cleanly in relief.

Timely Hits, Smart Aggression
Offensively, the Riders showcased balance throughout the lineup. Ethan Wisler doubled and drove in a run, while Justice Smith knocked in two RBIs. Evan Fowler helped his own cause offensively with two hits, and Connor Heritage added a base hit as Caesar Rodney generated pressure through both contact and discipline at the plate.

Bulldogs Limited by Missed Chances
North Caroline managed five hits, including two from Karson Hollingsworth and two from Oliver Frankowski, but could not convert base runners into runs. Despite drawing two walks and seeing multiple innings extend, the Bulldogs were held scoreless as Caesar Rodney pitching consistently answered any threat.

Player of the Game
Evan Fowler (Caesar Rodney) commanded an all‑around showing. The right‑hander tossed six shutout innings with eight strikeouts, limited damage with poise, and also went 2‑for‑3 at the plate. Fowler’s control and competitiveness set the tone for the Riders and proved to be the difference in the shutout victory.

Final
North Caroline High School 0, Caesar Rodney High School 5
With the 5‑0 win, Caesar Rodney continues to build momentum as the season progresses, relying on pitching depth, disciplined at‑bats, and consistent execution. The Riders will look to carry that formula forward, while North Caroline searches for renewed offensive spark in upcoming contests.
