Salisbury, MD – April 8, 2026
The Clippers delivered a complete performance Wednesday afternoon, overwhelming the Pocomoke Varsity Warriors 15–0 in a five-inning contest, using a patient offensive approach and dominant pitching to control the game from the opening frame.
Early Control Sets the Tone
James M Bennett wasted little time establishing momentum, building a commanding lead through the opening innings as they capitalized on walks, timely hitting, and defensive miscues. Nine team walks and steady pressure on the base paths kept Pocomoke on its heels, allowing the Clippers to steadily add runs in each of the first four innings.
Offensive Depth on Display
Liam Nelson powered the Clippers’ lineup, finishing 2-for-3 with five RBIs, including two doubles that consistently cleared the bases. Luca Valenzano added a strong showing at the plate with two hits and two RBIs, while Michael Seltzer and Chase Saulitis each drove in key runs as the Clippers posted 15 runs on eight hits.
Clippers Arms Silence Warriors
On the mound, Owen Hare earned the win with three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six. Bentley Powell followed with two perfect innings of relief, striking out four and preserving the shutout. Together, the Clippers’ pitchers limited Pocomoke to one hit and zero runs, facing just 18 total batters.
Warriors Unable to Recover
Pocomoke’s offense struggled to generate consistent contact, striking out ten times and leaving limited opportunities to mount a rally. Defensive errors compounded the challenge, and despite multiple pitching changes, the Warriors were unable to slow the Clippers’ momentum as the game concluded early under the run rule.
Player of the Game
Liam Nelson (Bennett) earned Player of the Game honors after delivering a standout offensive performance. His two doubles accounted for four total bases, and his five RBIs played a decisive role in breaking the game open and maintaining pressure throughout the contest.
Final
James M Bennett 15, Pocomoke 0
With strong performances on both sides of the ball, JMB looks poised to carry this momentum forward in upcoming matchups.
