The Kent Island Varsity Bucs wasted no time setting the tone Monday, erupting for a four‑run first inning and never looking back in an 11–5 victory over Queen Anne’s County. The Bucs backed timely hitting with steady work on the mound to control the game from the opening frame through the final out.
Fast Start Sets the Tone
Kent Island jumped ahead immediately, loading the bases early and cashing in with discipline and situational hitting. Jack Grossi delivered a major blow in the opening inning, driving in runs as the Bucs sent nine hitters to the plate in the first and put QAC on its heels
Middle Innings Add Separation
After QAC responded with runs of its own, the Bucs answered right back in the third and fourth innings. Consistent pressure on the basepaths and an aggressive approach at the plate helped Kent Island build its lead, highlighted by extra‑base hits from Kevin Coe, Myles Harmon, and Jayce Kulp.
Balanced Attack at the Plate
Kent Island finished with 14 hits and seven walks, spreading production throughout the lineup. Myles Harmon went 3‑for‑4 and scored twice, while Kris Lowery added three hits and drove in a pair. Jayce Kulp chipped in with a double and RBI, continuing the Bucs’ strong offensive rhythm.
Pitching Slams the Door
After a brief early stint, the Kent Island bullpen settled in. Mason Whisman provided key innings with five strikeouts over 3.2 frames, and Logan Baierlein was untouchable late, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing no hits. The duo combined to keep Queen Anne’s County from mounting a late comeback.
Player of the Game
Jack Grossi (Kent Island) anchored the lineup and delivered in big moments, going 2‑for‑3 with four RBIs, a walk, a sacrifice fly, and a stolen base. His early production set the pace and helped the Bucs grab immediate control of the contest.
